Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 August 2026

FaithGuide ("FaithGuide", "we", "us") is operated by Reid Media. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it plain and honest. If anything is unclear, email support@faithguideapp.com.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you use the app we create an account for you. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google we receive a basic identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email. You can use FaithGuide without providing your name.
  • What you create in the app. Your saved verses, prayers, journal entries, streaks, denomination preference and morning time. This is stored so your experience follows you across devices.
  • Prayer Circle posts. Anything you choose to share with the Prayer Circle. Only what you deliberately post is ever shared; everything else is private to you.
  • Usage and device data. Basic technical information (device type, app version, crash logs) and anonymous usage analytics - which features are opened and how often - used to keep the app working and to improve it. This is not tied to your name or identity and is never sold.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
  • We do not show third-party advertising inside the app.
  • Your journal, saved verses and private prayers are yours alone.

Advertising measurement

We do not show adverts inside FaithGuide. But to reach more people, we sometimes run adverts for FaithGuide on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and we need to know which ones actually help. To measure this we use your device's advertising identifier (the IDFA on iPhone, the Advertising ID on Android) and share it with Meta (Facebook), so that an install or a subscription can be attributed to the advert you saw. On iPhone this only happens if you allow tracking when the app asks - you can change your choice at any time in your device settings, and on Android you can reset or limit your Advertising ID in Google settings. We never sell this data.

How we use your data

To provide FaithGuide: to give you scripture, prayer and Shepherd responses, to sync your content across your devices, to send your morning check-in reminder if you enable it, and to keep the service secure and working.

Shepherd and AI

When you use Shepherd or request a verse or prayer, your message is sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. It is used to answer you and is not used to train advertising profiles or sold to anyone.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run FaithGuide:

  • Google Firebase - accounts, secure data storage and notifications.
  • Google Analytics for Firebase - anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the app.
  • Anthropic - the AI that powers Shepherd, verses and prayers.
  • Apple and Google - app delivery and subscription billing.
  • RevenueCat - to manage subscription status.
  • Meta (Facebook) - to measure which of our adverts bring new members to FaithGuide.

Payments

Membership is billed by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details.

The daily verse email

If you give us your email address, we send you one short verse each morning. Every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also turn it off in the app under Settings. We do not sell or share your address, and we do not send it to anyone who has not asked for it.

Your choices and rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time - use the delete option in the app settings or email support@faithguideapp.com from your account address. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR or the CCPA; we honour these requests.

How long we keep it

We keep your journal entries, prayers, saved verses and profile for as long as your account exists, so they are there when you come back to them. When you delete your account we remove them within 30 days. Prayer Circle requests you posted are removed with your account. Anonymous, aggregated counts (such as how many people checked in on a given day) are not tied to you and are kept indefinitely. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep their own billing records under their own policies.

Children

FaithGuide is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
